Launch day

Image
After refitting all the fittings, and giving the spars a couple of coats of varnish, we were ready for the big day. It was a bright and sunny day with little wind so off we went.

Roll over

With all the repairs complete on underside of the hull it was time to flip St Jim over and see what needed doing on the inside.

Filling, taping and sanding

Image
With all the panels glued in place it was time to start filling the edges to blend them in.

Patching up the holes

Image
The next step was to patch up all the holes I had cut in the hull to remove the damaged sections.

Rebuilding the nose

Image
With the bulkhead and snub nose rebuilt it was time to put the lower panels back in place.

Making new parts

Once all the damage was cut away new panels had to be fabricated to begin the rebuild process.

Let the cutting begin

The first action was to cut all the damaged area out so as to give the repairs sound material to attach to.
