Patching up the holes
The next step was to patch up all the holes I had cut in the hull to remove the damaged sections.
Scraps of ply were glued in positions to overlap the holes. This overlap would be used to secure inserts in place. Clamps and screws were used to hold everything in place until the glue set. Luckily the majority of the damage was in areas not easily visible so I could use this method without looking too bad. In some areas this was not possible, but this dinghy would have to take pride in the visible battle scars that remained.
